Product: QuietDOM YT Guard
✓ Plain-Language Summary

QuietDOM YT Guard does not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal data — ever. All processing happens exclusively on your local device. Nothing about your browsing, YouTube activity, or identity ever leaves your browser or reaches our servers. We have no servers that receive your data. If you never contact us by email, we hold zero information about you.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Aloysius Industries LLC and its QuietDOM product ("Aloysius Industries," "QuietDOM," "we," "us," or "our") handle information in connection with the QuietDOM YT Guard browser extension (the "Extension") and the website located at quietdom.net (the "Site").

This policy is intended to be complete, transparent, and legally compliant with applicable United States federal and state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and, where applicable, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

By installing the Extension or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not install or use the Extension or the Site.

2. Who We Are

Aloysius Industries LLC is the legal entity that owns, develops, and publishes the QuietDOM product line, including the QuietDOM Video browser extension. "QuietDOM" is a product brand of Aloysius Industries LLC and is not a separate legal entity.

Under applicable privacy law, Aloysius Industries LLC is the data controller with respect to any personal information processed in connection with the Site or the Extension.

Legal entity: Aloysius Industries LLC

Product brand: QuietDOM

Privacy contact: support@quietdom.net

Country of operation: United States of America

3. Information We Collect

The following table summarizes all categories of information relevant to the Extension and the Site, and our practice with respect to each.

Data Category Collected? Where It Lives
Browsing history / URLs visited NOT COLLECTED

IP address (via Extension) NOT COLLECTED
Device identifiers / hardware info NOT COLLECTED
Cookies or session tokens NOT COLLECTED

The only personal information we ever receive is your email address and message contents if you choose to contact us at support@quietdom.net. This information is used exclusively to respond to your inquiry and is not used for any other purpose.

4. What We Do Not Collect

To be explicit and unambiguous, QuietDOM Video does not collect, access, transmit, or share any of the following:

  • Your browsing history, search queries, or the URLs of pages you visit
  • Your YouTube watch history, liked videos, subscriptions, or account information
  • Your Google account credentials, cookies, authentication tokens, or session data
  • Your real name, physical address, phone number, or any government-issued identifier
  • Your IP address, MAC address, or any other network identifier
  • Your device type, operating system version, or hardware configuration
  • Financial information of any kind
  • Any information about other browser extensions you have installed
  • Keystroke data, clipboard contents, form inputs, or passwords
  • Geolocation data
  • Usage statistics, telemetry, crash reports, or analytics of any kind

We do not engage in behavioral advertising, interest-based profiling, or any form of cross-site tracking. We have no advertising partners and we do not sell data — because we have no data to sell.

5. Local Storage and User Preferences

QuietDOM Video may save user preferences to your browser's local storage using the Chrome Extension API (chrome.storage.local). This may include settings such as your preferred default playback speed, overlay toggle states, or other in-extension configuration choices you have made.

This data:

  • Resides solely on your device, inside your browser's sandboxed storage for the Extension
  • Is never transmitted to any server operated by Aloysius Industries or any third party
  • Is not accessible to us or any other website or extension
  • Can be deleted at any time by removing the Extension from your browser

Removing the Extension from Chrome will permanently delete all locally stored preferences. There is no account to delete and no server-side data to request removal of.

6. Chrome Web Store Distribution

QuietDOM Video is distributed through the Google Chrome Web Store, operated by Google LLC. The Chrome Web Store is a separate platform governed by Google's own privacy policies and terms of service. Aloysius Industries LLC does not control Google's data collection practices.

When you install, update, or review the Extension through the Chrome Web Store, Google may collect information about that activity in accordance with their policies. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy and the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.

Aloysius Industries LLC receives no personally identifiable information from Google in connection with the distribution of the Extension. Aggregate, anonymized download statistics made available to developers by Google do not include any information that identifies individual users.

Direct Installation

QuietDOM Video is also available for direct installation from this Site. Direct installation does not involve any third-party distribution platform and carries the same zero-data-collection guarantee described throughout this policy.

7. This Website (quietdom.net)

The Site (quietdom.net) is a static informational website. We do not use:

  • Analytics software (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Plausible)
  • Advertising or tracking pixels of any kind
  • HTTP cookies set by us
  • Session identifiers or fingerprinting techniques
  • User account or authentication systems

We do not operate a newsletter, mailing list, or marketing program. If you email us at support@quietdom.net, we will use the information in your email exclusively to respond to your inquiry. We will not add you to any list, share your email with any third party, or use it for any commercial purpose.

Note on hosting: Standard server access logs may be maintained by the web hosting provider that serves this Site. Such logs typically include IP addresses and page request times and are outside of our direct control. We do not access or use such logs for any marketing or user-profiling purpose.

8. Data Security

Because QuietDOM Video collects no personal data through the Extension, there is no personal data held by us that could be subject to a data breach in connection with Extension usage. The absence of data collection is itself the most effective security measure.

With respect to email communications sent to support@quietdom.net, such communications are handled through standard commercially reasonable email security practices. We recommend that you do not send sensitive personal information via email.

In the unlikely event of a security incident affecting any personal data we hold, we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The Extension does not integrate with, communicate with, or transmit data to any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-brokerage services.

The Site may contain links to external websites, including the Google Chrome Web Store and publicly maintained filter list repositories. Aloysius Industries LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. Clicking an external link subjects you to the privacy policy of that third-party site. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

We do not sell, rent, lease, trade, or otherwise transfer personal information to any third party for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

10. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Extension and the Site are not directed to, and are not intended for use by, children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the Extension collects no personal data from any user, no such data from children is collected.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us (e.g., via email), please contact us immediately at support@quietdom.net and we will promptly delete any such information from our records.

This policy is consistent with the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506, and the FTC's implementing regulations at 16 C.F.R. Part 312.

11. California Residents — CCPA / CPRA

This section applies to residents of the State of California and is provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA).

Categories of Personal Information Collected

In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information as defined by the CCPA:

  • Identifiers — email address only, and only when you contact us directly. Not collected through the Extension.

We have not collected any other CCPA-enumerated category of personal information, including: real name, postal address, commercial information, biometric information, internet or electronic network activity information, geolocation data, audio/visual information, professional information, education information, or inferences drawn from any of the above.

Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

Your California Rights

California residents have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA:

  1. Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  2. Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  3. Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  4. Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so this right is not implicated.
  5. Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA.
  6. Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise your rights, contact us at support@quietdom.net. We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days as required by law.

Because we collect no personal data through the Extension, for the vast majority of users, there is no personal information held by us to disclose, correct, or delete.

12. European Users — GDPR

This section applies to individuals located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

Legal Basis for Processing

Because QuietDOM Video collects no personal data through the Extension, we do not act as a data controller or processor with respect to Extension usage data. No EU/UK/Swiss data protection law is engaged by the act of installing or using the Extension.

Where you contact us by email, we process your email address and message contents on the legal basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, the legitimate interest of responding to your inquiry. This processing is necessary for and proportionate to that interest.

Data Retention

Email correspondence is retained only for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping, not exceeding 24 months.

Your GDPR Rights

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights:

  1. Right of Access (Art. 15): Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  2. Right to Rectification (Art. 16): Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  3. Right to Erasure (Art. 17): Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  4. Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18): Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  5. Right to Data Portability (Art. 20): Receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  6. Right to Object (Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  7. Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence.

To exercise any of these rights, contact support@quietdom.net. We will respond within 30 days as required by the GDPR.

International Data Transfers

Our operations are based in the United States. If you contact us from the EEA or UK, your email will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on your informed consent (by choosing to email us) as the transfer mechanism under Article 49(1)(a) GDPR for such incidental transfers.

13. Your Rights — All Users

Regardless of your location, you have the following rights with respect to any personal information we may hold:

  • Access: Request confirmation of whether we hold any personal data about you and, if so, a copy of that data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete any personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate personal data.
  • Portability: Receive any personal data you have provided to us in a portable format.
  • Opt-out: We do not engage in any marketing communication. There is nothing to opt out of.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@quietdom.net. Because we collect no personal data through the Extension, for most users the answer to a subject access request will be: "We hold no personal information about you."

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Extension's functionality, or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

For material changes — changes that meaningfully expand the categories of data we collect, change how we use data, or reduce your rights — we will provide notice by updating the policy at this URL at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and we will note the nature of the change prominently at the top of the document.

Your continued use of the Extension or the Site after any modification to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with a material change, you should uninstall the Extension and discontinue use of the Site before the change takes effect.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Prior versions of this policy are available upon request by contacting support@quietdom.net.
